Gave it another chance and picked up a sample and tried it on skin and it totally changed for me. By far my favorite fall and winter cologne. Great smell, longevity and probably most importantly my wife loves it (probably most important 😂). I would say if you can try it on your skin and let the top settle down to see if you like it. Though as others have said, everyone's skin interacts with fragrances differently so may just not work for you. Nothing wrong with that!”

I love his clothes and accessories, but I thought his fragrances were overhyped and overpriced. Out of the dozen or so that I've tried, I only didn't like one. Some of the others aren't my style, but they're still beautiful.”

They sit closer to the skin on me and feel more like personal comfort scents than attention-grabbers.”

She could absolutely tell the difference between the two. So if close is good enough then Rare Carbon is fine. I too got the raspberry note.”

And by that I just mean little subtle notes that pop up on the dry down and when you're wearing it throughout the day. I find SB Dark Leather a bit powdery and the leather smell a bit flat and comparison to OL. I wear it in the winter to change it up a bit from the OL. I enjoy it, but I don't know that I would purchase it again.”

Where other brands just go on like fireworks and then somewhat fizzle, the TFs seem more like a lazer light show where the colors change. Though I remember smelling it in the store two years ago and I hated it like hell. So I definitely recommend going and testing it out. Tom Ford has a lot of leather scents in general, but this specific one is, in my opinion, the most balanced - both in terms of smell and price.”
