“Virgin Island Water by Creed is a bit pricier but the fresh lime and coconut work really well in the heat.”

“I've smelled about 80% of these and I think the one I'd be MOST excited about is VIW - such a perfect vacation scent.”

“Love VIW but will never buy again because on me it last about 30 minutes before it's a skin scent. For $400 that not acceptable for me.”

“I bought just one decant of this brand, Aquatica, because it was said to be cloning Creed VIW, and the hype on social media was too much to ignore. It was so bad that I understood that whoever in this company approved this blend for production, doesn't give a damn about the perfume itself. This brand is all about advertising. And by this point of time, I had already bought decants 50+ Middle Eastern clones, and none of them was good enough to buy a full bottle of. So, I gave whole gang of Middle Eastern clone perfumes, trying decants of designers now, even Titan Skinn perfumes are quite good”

“I tested maybe five of them once at a department store, and I also thought they were overrated. However department store bottles have been sitting in thoae bad lights all day so maybe that affected them idk I can't remember which ones I tested, but I remember loving Virgin Islan Water. Best aquatic I've ever smelled still There's was one other one that I liked but the other ones I felt weren't great, but maybe they were damaged because they were testers Anyway even the Virgin Island Water isn't worth thei price tag. They are way overpriced imho”

“Rahaan Aquatica is so good. It took a little while for my bottle to start smelling good but it smells amazing now. When I first got it it had this slight Dead Flowers smell to it but it's gone away now. I got a sample of Virgin Island water and I think this is one of those dupes that will prevent me from ever buying the real thing even. I've got a guy who sells a full 100ml for $175 which is an amazing price on that fragrance but still, Aquatica is just that good that I think I'll put that money towards something else”

“Absolutely. I wear St Barts more than VIW. I only wish it went in a little heavier. Supposedly, Dua is gonna clone it and that has piqued my interest since a chunkier, longer lasting interpretation would be great. I like St Kitts even more but it's cursed for the same reason.”

“People hate on it because it's a dupe. People also forget that Virgin Island Water was preceded by Bath & Body Works' Coconut Lime Verbena by four years (they came out in 2003 and 2007, respectively). I've had my bottle of Aquatica for seven months, and it smells fantastic. The differences at this point are truly nominal.”

“I actually own both VIW and Malibu Party in the Bay by Simone Andreoli and find the latter to be more heavy on the lime. I myself dont smell the coconut in it at all but other people comment on me smelling heavily like coconut, so I guess it's a nose thing. I prefer it over VIW because it's also way cheaper. It's my favorite summer scent because it reminds me of home, which is in the Caribbean as well”

“I got a big bottle of Le Sel on Jomashop for a crazy deal. It is honestly one of my favorite summer fragrances. Mandatory overspray and completely guilt free due to the price. It has a very similar delicate note layering to some of the OG Creed fragrances that I wear (VIW, Himalaya, and MI) that said it has similar issues with performance to those as well.”

“I really like the smell of Aventus, and virgin island water is one of the best things I have ever smelled in my life, but I find the performance of Aventus too poor to justify buying a bottle, and VIW barely lasts 30 minutes in my skin. The only one I have tried that I like and find performs well is bois du Portugal (or boys de Portugal as fragrance influencers like to call it), but I don't plan on buying a bottle as I find it a bit too much of a grandpa scent to actually wear regularly.”

5/5 UniqueSummer

“I'm a woman and I own/wear VIW all summer long. I love it, it's absolutely unisex. You might also try Simone Andreoli, this house has quite a few island-y scents. One of them is quite similar to VIW and said to last longer (but the balance was off in my opinion, too much lime). My 2026 summer scent obsession was Tsu Lang Yor - Pool, which isn't exactly island-y but it's very much "summer" and there's something really unique and special about it. Good luck in your search!”

“No, mine started off as pure lime as well. I sprayed it about 8 times (including upside down until only air came out, just to get some air in there) then let it sit for a couple weeks. I just tried it back to back against a sample of VIW and it smells nearly identical, now. It's still a bit lime forward at the opening but the drydown is exact.. but I think it has to be a bit more citrusy to get the longevity out of it. I think that's the main reason VIW only lasts 2 hours, vs Aquatica lasting nearly all day.”

“I do wear citrus and aquatic scents in high heat and humidity. If it's unbearably hot, body sprays. In my collection: Light blue EA white tea, Green tea- original, citrus and coconut breeze flankers. Creed virgin island water JHAG NAP. B&BW rain, on the horizon and Ariel. SDJ aqua Mistica The body shop satsuma.”
